We should try avoiding questions that voice actors are tired of hearing for the gazillionth time and that will probably be asked again in their individual panels. Easiest way is to youtube those voice actors panels at other conventions and try coming up with a totally different question.

Questions:

1) Some of you have worked on anime where you were both a voice actor (sometimes even portraying the main character) and the ADR director of that anime. Could you please explain to the audience what this process entails, particularly how do you "direct yourself" in addition to directing other voice actors without going on a power trip?

2) Some anime productions have been known to make voice actors double on character roles within the same episode, due to budgetary concerns. In some of the worst cases, there are scenes where a conversation takes place between two different characters, but the voices are dubbed by the same actor. When this happens, sometimes the voice actor has to do ridiculous things so as to achieve a difference in the voices (e.g.: pinch their nose while talking, eat while talking, speak with a different accent or perform various other vocal gymnastics). Has this happened to any of you and if so, what was the most ridiculous thing that you ever had to do to make each character voice different within that anime episode?

3) When does a voice actor know when they are ready to graduate to ADR directing?

4) What foods should you eat in order to nurture your voice? What foods should you avoid?

5) Which anime character would you want to revisit, if a) the anime gets remade in an updated version and b) you had the opportunity to improve on or tweak your portrayal of the character in the original anime (because the character is more properly written, or you now have a better understanding of the character than you did before). Colleen doesn't get to choose Riza Hawkeye (Fullmetal Alchemist).

6) In most productions, the choice of a particular actor/actress can enhance the quality if they have chemistry with the other actors. That being said, since character voices are recorded separately in the American method of anime voice dubbing (i.e.: you are not performing in the presence or at the same time as the other person), do you think the choice of a particular voice actor will raise or break your A-game?
